Last month, I responded to a nyc craiglist ad that explained how a Media agency was looking for new female models. If your application was chosen, you would be invited to an exclusive photo shoot at the Soho Grand Hotel and would be allowed to recieved photos from the shoot.
I was picked to attend the shoot, so I agreed to participate. When I met the so called "CEO" of this company Bad Boy Media Inc. , he refused to tell anyone his real name. He refered to himself as "money boy" the whole day.
Needless to say, I never received any pictures as promised. A few weeks later he spoke to me by phone explaining he had an audition set up for me. He said there was an $800.00 admission fee to try put for the show, so I borrowed the money and personally gave it to him. The casting never happened and I never got my money back after reviving messages that I would be getting a refund.
He never returned my calls and he kept the money.
The owner Money Boy Inc. In NYC will not disclose his real name. There is no actual office location for Money Boy Media: instead, the mailing adress has a PO Box. The company phone is his personal cell phone number.
This is not a real agency! I'm warning all females models, he is a scam artist. ** To all new models, do your homework and research the agency before working with them. If someone tells you they need hundreds of dollars in fees upfront for an audition, they are scanning you!
I learned the hard way.***
